Tobacco

The Cuban cigar has found his way all over the world. Immemorial traditions of tobacco growing and processing have made the product to what it is now. The different fields of tobacco are spread out all over the country, but the area around Pinar del Rio became most famous because of tobacco growing. Queens, kings, emperors, presidents and movie stars were the first in smoking the best type of cigars. The Cuban is very often a second-hand smoker, not always with the brands who determine the export, but usually the ones made for ‘national consumption’. One of these national brands is the Reloba, a cigar with a price of not even worth four eurocents. For a sublime export brand like the Robaina or Cohiba a tourist will pay at least 500 times more. There is an upcoming trend in buying cigars of the streets, but be careful because these are usually home rolled fake ones.
